Uncle beats gangster nephew and posts it on Facebook
WARNING: Video has NSFW language
HOUSTON - Is it real? Real or not, it's gone viral. The video shows an uncle taking the belt to his nephew. It was in response to the nephew's gangster like postings on Facebook. The uncle filmed the punishment and had the nephew post it back on Facebook. It can now be found on a number of other websites.
The overwhelming majority of comments about the video applaud what the uncle did. They commended his tough actions in a tough situation. We showed the video to Judy Blankenship.
"I think the uncle has a point. If he doesn't want his nephew to be in a gang then maybe that helped him to prove his point that we are good people and that you don't need to be in a gang to be somebody."
Blankenship admitted the video was difficult to watch, but she fears other kids may be doing the same thing: posting online without understanding just how harmful it could be.
Mike Uwagbai didn't watch the video for long before he declared it "out of line".
"I mean discipline your nephew. It doesn't have to be in that type of manner and it definitely doesn't have to be in public use,” Uwagbai said. “If anything, it should be off camera. If you're going to discipline your nephew or your child in that type of way but to put it on Facebook and to put it on the internet is out of line."
When asked what he thinks the uncle should have done, Uwagbai replied, "I'd go about it like maybe take his stuff away. I think that’s the best type of discipline."
"The right thing to do is the whooping but to put it on Facebook? That's the wrong thing," says Nathaniel Carrier. "Everybody can see it now. He's going to be hurt. He's going to have to live with that."
That was not no ass whoopin'....... I've received better...just saying
True ****... I've had my mouth grabbed to the point where my teeth hurt badly, been slapped on every part of my body, been yelled at so loudly that the whole neighborhood could hear it... I hope this kid doesn't think this is punishment because this is just the equivalent of a slap on the wrist for me
