It is time to finish with my Best Of 2010!
The final 5 songs are revealed and also my #1 album of the year here below.

'Postcards From A Young Man'
by Manic Street Preachers |
 | Release date: September 20th, 2010
Surprisingly, number #1 goes to Manic Street Preachers!
This is the tenth album this band release, and they don't change their sound a lot from one album to other. But that is not something I criticize about them, actually is something I like from them.
Maybe the only difference I find in some albums is that some of them have a more commercial side than others. And this is one of those; as they entitled this album from their own words: "One last shot at mass communication". There are great chart-friendly tracks on this album like "(It's Not War) Just The End Of Love", that are closer to their pop stage than thier usual 'punk' or 'alterative rock' we are used to listen from them.
Despite all this, I don't think they achieved that success they wanted with this album, which is great for some fans that don't want them to became popular. Particulary, I don't really mind about their popularity, I pay more attention to their music than the money they can earn with it.
My favourite track from this album, "I Think I Found It" is one of the many powerful and amazing ones you can find on it. I love the sound from the beginning that appears in the whole song to the end. The lyrics are great also, especially when it says "These things I've seen bring tears to my eyes, Live with me through the threads of your lives".
Every single tracks from this album is great and I couldn't stop listening to it since the first time I heard it.
Manic Street Preachers is a band that never takes a break on music and that's great, because it denies what many people say about taking a long beak or working years to release a masterpiece album. They still have many things to show us and that's why they realease a new album almost every year. They are to release a new album this 2011, and I know they won't disappoint me.
Favourite Tracks:
01. I Think I Found It
02. Some Kind Of Nothingness
03. (It's Not War) Just The End Of Love
04. Postcards From A Young Man
05. Don't Be Evil |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before Top 5, here we have the last set of Bonus Tracks that had great chances to get a place on my Best Of some months ago, but for different reasons they couldn't and here they are as an honorific mention sharing the same post with my Top 5 songs of 2010.

Comment:
There is something strange that happens to me with this band, because I don't know why they always manage to get a good position on my best of's, but the truth is that I never plan to let them in such positions.
Maybe it's because I don't pay attention to their songs during the year, but when I am supposed to make my Best Of, always there is an amazing Athelte song over there to make it on my top.
Whatever, this song is amazing and very underrated. I think I like it more than their both songs that made Top 20 in 2009. |

Arcade Fire
"We Used To Wait"
The Suburbs
Comment:
Arcade Fire with one of the best albums of 2010, couln't miss top 10 of the year. I like this song since the first seconds. It is not my favourite from the album though but it is from all the singles they released. I don't have anything too add, I love this song and that's why it is at #4! |

Brandon Flowers
"Crossfire"
Flamingo
Comment:
Last year, The Killers managed to be #3 with "Spaceman". What a coincidence that this year Brandon Flowers without his band remains this position, lol.
The first time I listened to this song, it reminded me to the The Killers' style a lot. But as I said when I commented 'Flamingo', I still love it.
The music video for this song is good and funny in some way. |

Muse
"Resistance"
The Resistance
Comment:
Personally, this is the best song they released in recent times. Also, it's my favourite song from their latest album 'The Resistance'. As a fun fact, Muse is repeating position as last year with "Uprising", lol.
This song is amazing, though the video is not their best. I prefer something better for a music video than a live performance. |

Gorillaz
"On Melancholy Hill"
Plastic Beach
Comment:
Finally, to my surprise #1 goes to Gorillaz!
I remember the early listens I gave to this song it didn't caught my eye at all. But then I realized how good this song was. I got into the lyrics, which are amazing, and into their whole album 'Plastic Beach', although the entire album is not as great as this song.
I never imagined that I would love a Gorillaz's song as much as I love this one! This song reminds me to all the good and bad moments I lived this 2010 and that's also one of the reasons it is at #1. It is such a masterpiece that it already sounds like a classic! |
Thanks everyone for your support during this weeks I've been postion my Best Of!
Hope you all the best for this 2011 that has already started! See you again at the end of this year!
