Actually him and Jack White have unreleased material, they're apparantly saving it for a future album. And Andre 3k loves Ye and supported his label GOOD Music...And they have worked together, they were great friends
I think Kanye just likes being unpredictable. Working with people like Justin Vernon, Jon Brion, Raekwon, but than turning around and doing stuff with Soulja Boy, Bieber and Kim K lol. On his last album he really pushed not to well known artists (Pusha, Cy Hi, Bink)...
