They should stop trying to promote physical CD sales and promote digital album sales instead. They should lower digital album prices and everytime you buy a single they should give you a discount on the album its from.
the ONLY way to improve album sales in this era is to STOP making albums, and make EP's instead.
Think about it. Singles are selling now. Not albums. No one is willing to pay 10 bucks for albums full of fillers. If we instead put out albums with 7-9 tracks for about 5 bucks, I'm more than sure album sales will rise.
and to keep interest flowing, instead of artists putting out an album a year, how about TWO Ep's a year? That way your'e just cutting the price and half.. but making the same amount of money if not more because you could move more units that way.
They never will bc it's a lot easier to youtube a song you like and download it then it is to find $10 to buy an album. The only artist I actually buy from is my fave and any other time I buy a single off of itunes it's just bc I'm too lazy to find a link.
