Yeah, but isn't this old news? I remember a Vh1 special from the mid-2000s about the PCAs (an episode of "All Access" or something like that) where the producers basically said that they tell the winners ahead of time so that they'll be sure to show up. It's not like it's rigged or anything. But honestly, who would show up to the freaking People's Choice Awards only to lose?

Video Music Awards do the same thing some time.

Well, it happens at the Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globes, Emmys, etc. When there is a real, respectable award show at stake (that people actually care about winning), the nominees will show up, even if they don't win.

All award shows are rigged anyway, but it's funny seeing a major publication so blatantly pointing it out.

In what way? Legit award shows (as in, voted by the industry) like the Oscars and the Emmys have had some amazing upset wins over the years. The ones that are fan-voted are just crap.
