I don't think Gaga's next album will be preachy all the way through. You and I is not preachy or anything. Born This Way is likely to have some diversity.

I'm here for quality not #1s. Though it is always fun to joke about flop artists, not every artist I listen to has impacted Billboard's top 20...or Billboard alone for that matter. So long as the album does not suck.

The only sense that I use labels are the fact that labels are necessary. I'm a really non judgmental person. I don't use labels to hurt, discriminate, promote, or support anything. I don't tie stereotypes to labels, is what I'm trying to say. I just use them because things are what they are and everything needs a name to describe it.

Exactly! I love making fun of flop artists in the current mainstream field, because the whole purpose of their existence is to dumb down their work so it gets easy to listen and play and eventually reach #1. When those b*tches flop of course I'll make fun of them, but art is interpreted in different ways by different people. That's why some of the best artists out there have opted for quality music and artistic freedom instead of commercial success.

Gaga has managed to walk that thin line, and I know she has SO much more to give in the future. She fought really hard and is still fighting to reach a place where she has enough freedom to fully express herself while still being a relevant pop artist, because doing pop music is the best way to convey your message. She's getting there.

Anyway, Gaga will not flop. I doubt she flops in the next 5 years. Her fanbase is unrivalled and she is very, very smart. Born This Way (the album) is an inevitable smash.

However, I'm sure Christina's fans said the same about Bionic...

I'm not saying it won't smash, but let's listen to the music first. I'm sure she will deliver, but we shouldn't be cocky about her work until we've heard it.

I agree very much. I don't think Born This Way will flop. Unfortunately, Gaga does have a lot to live up to in terms of quality and success...but she is proud of Born This Way. She's calling it her greatest work. Not all of her fans are going to agree (see Telephone), but I really think she will maintain her grip on the industry. She is very smart with and her fanbase is constantly growing. I have no fears about this album

Born This Way will not flop. I mean look how many fans she has made over the past few years! This album will maybe sell 1mil+. But it all depends on the first single.

When I say smash I'm speaking sales wise. She's just too big at the moment. Christina was a whole different story. There simply was no interest in her at that point. Gaga is the biggest pop star in the world my a mile and people keep falling in love with her around the world as she tours, which really is the best way of guaranteeing longevity.

And she's smart and humble. I believe her if she says this is the best work she's ever done. I mean she was tired of the Fame era already. Even though I'm in the minority of those who LOVED the Alejandro video and the way she interpreted the song into that particular video, even I have to admit it was clear that she wants bigger things than that. She wants to get political and use art and music to change the things that piss her off and she has cleverly garnered the fan base to support her through this over the past 2 years.

I wouldn't say 1 million. She doesn't crossover, age wise, as good as Taylor Swift. But I believe 600-700k will most likely be the numbers she pulls. The lined up promo is insane and will keep people hungry for this album.

Just because gaga said there will be some preachy or religious or even political stuff on the album, that really doesn't mean it will dominate the album. You can look at a lot of her music in different ways and you can't apply blanket statements to her albums.

The Fame was not entirely about the fame, only a handful songs are actually about the fame. Even The Fame Monster has tracks like telephone and so happy I could die aren't as centered on fears as other stuff like Alejandro monster and dance in the dark are. She says what dance in the dark is about based on her intentions that its a girl who has sex in the dark because she is not comfortable with her body. You can also view the song as something about girls being afraid of how their boyfriends put them down so they have to have their fun without him seeing.

I'm just saying that you really can't take everything she says so literally or apply it to a full body of her work.

Wondering why Gaga doesn´t tweet anymore - maybe she´s on the set for her first video? Who knows?

I'm sure she will be at that conference, CES is a HUGE event not to mention that it is her first collaboration with Polaroid.
