R&B star Chris Brown has revealed on Twitter that he’s considering releasing his upcoming album ‘F.A.M.E’ as a double disc. The second disc will be titled ‘Fortune’. As the singer has recorded too many songs for the project, he thinks that releasing a double album means fans will not miss out. However, the 21-year-old smartly shows awareness that this could prove an expensive process since he is trying to put himself back in the good graces of the record buying public. Releasing an expensive album that doesn’t achieve desirable sales is in deed a big risk.
It sounds like he’s doing a Beyonce, who released both a pop and urban single that catered to different audiences. She released a double disc album separating the two genres. Breezy’s two singles ‘Yeah 3x’ and ‘Look At Me Now’ cater to two completely different audiences, so it makes a lot of sense for him to go that route, witthout running up too much expenses of course. Well, he could always do what EVERY other artist does – re-release it or put out a deluxe edition along with the standard version. That seems to be the most viable of marketing schemes these days.
I really hope we get the double disc as it would mean more music for us, and of course it would be a shame if those songs went to waste. Though, you gotta admit, ‘Fame’ and ‘Fortune’ does have a nice touch to it. Doncha think?
