I´ve been thinking about Nicole´s words (BTW´s tendency to sound preachy) lately. I fear that, too.

I think the public needs rah-rah´s, bluffin with my muffin and ***** wagons ...but is I´m beautiful in my way / Don´t hide yourself in regret / Just love yourself... what the world wants to hear?

I am so confused.

It's so annoying how you guys are worried about lack of commercial success (which WON'T happen regardless of the material) rather than worrying if you will enjoy it. It's like people can't enjoy pop music unless it hits #1 on Billboard, which is the dumbest thing ever. Worry about the quality rather than the commercial success, OK?

Well if it's preachy and corny that is about lack of quality.

I'm curious though about how songs about hookers and songs inspired by sex shops will fit into this BTW theme.

I'm 100% with you. Some people on this site only care about stanning for the most succesful music rather than the best music.

Example: Bionic. Everyone said they hated it because it 'flopped' yet it has popped up in many peoples most played albums of the year and people secretly love it. If you love it why be ashamed?

Maybe the world doesn't want to hear it right now but maybe we need to hear it. I have unlimited faith in Gagas songwriting ability and her highly trained army of beatmakers. It will be awesome.

As long as I love it I could care less though, she doesn't do this for the money she does it for the monsters...and our souls obv.

I don't think "Born This Way" will be a huge theme throughout whole the album. I think that's what she wants to convey with the first single (if it's Born This Way, which I think it is.) There might be some "inspirational" songs, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of "rah rah"-style hooks too. Normally, not every song on an album relates to the title. Plus, she said sledge-hammering dance beats () so even if the lyrics are preachy, I'm sure the song will still be catchy and danceable

It can be lyrically inspirational and poppy at the same time.

I dont want BTW to be successful in order to show off, but for the lady herself to be happy. #1 is a great confirmation for years of hard work.

Also, Bea, I don´t quite think that you are right in saying "she doesn't do this for the money she does it for the monsters". Naturally there is nothing she puts before us, yet it is self-evident that commercial success and resultingly money is one of the top priorities in this business.

I agree with all your posts in this page. Thanks for this, it's good to know that there are people in these boards who can see beyond airplay and digital sales. I guess it's probably because I'm really not into mainstream music except for Gaga, as the stuff I love barely gets any airplay in any stations, and obviously none on Top 40.

Also, it kinda bothers me how some of you here are scared that her music will be preachy. You do realize that you're basically saying that you're scared that her music will have MEANING? I mean it's about time someone makes pop music with meaning like Madonna did in the 80s and 90s. Even she dumbed down from Confessions on. Seriously there's room for everything. If you want dumbed down, meaningless cheap lyrics you have more than enough b*tches doing that right now.

Let Gaga say what she wants and put those awesome songwriting skills to work.

While I do love quite a few mainstream artists I too listen to a lot of...less popular music. I'd say a lot of people here do too but don't admit it...at least I hope so, I hope there aren't as many blind followers of the charts as there appears to be.
