Who are some of the most significant figures in your life that you look up to? List both personally (family/friends) and celebrity-wise.
I most look up to my my aunt. She's such a strong woman with a successful family and thriving career. I admire her tremendously for balancing both of those worlds because typically some let one affect the other, but not my aunt. My mother is an automatic and I was trying not to be too cliche.
I look up to Britney Spears, Tamia Hill, and Beyonce Knowles as far as celebrities go.
Britney: I admire the strength in this tenacious woman. My God, she went through such a horrific period in her life where all her mistakes and problems were covered worldwide under a microscope. Every small thing she did was magnified x10 where she was kicked, ridiculed, degraded and slammed in every way possible. I seen someone who was on top of the world, fall HARD and hit rock bottom. With the love and support of her family she persevered through adversity and I admire the strength and fight this woman showed through all of that. Most people would try to run away and hide in a attempt to just be forgotten about, allowing others to stomp all over them, but not Britney. She got right back up and punched back at all the naysayers who said she was done or finished. For heaven's sake, the AP wrote a obituary for the woman just encase she died. We need to find and promote such strength and determination in our youth today, where several lack confidence or suffer identity crisis.
I also look up to Britney on how to be the better person. She's a naturally sweet person who doesn't ever diss or slam people. Her kindness is something everyone should have or exemplify and I look up to her for such inspiration.
Beyonce and Tamia: What can I say about these two extraordinary black women? They are the epitome of beauty and class. If I could posses half of what these women have, then I would be an amazing person inside and out. It's refreshing to see two black females make their family work while in the spotlight. Tamia does such an amazing job as a mother, wife, and musician, I can't help but just be in awe of her. Beyonce, my goodness what an amazing vocalist, business savvy, and amazing human being in general she is. These ladies give me proof of what black women can be and should be.

Lady Gaga: As an immigrant here in the United States, I never fit in at school, people bullied me... even the people who also came from my country bullied me because I was new. As I started school here, people started calling me ****** and dick sucker because of my orientation. One time, I got home from school crying. When I heard, about this lady named Lady Gaga who is all about equality.. I started following her works since the Bad Romance video release. She really inspired me + changed my life. Some take years to adjust, with Gaga in my life she made my life here in the United States easier. I wouldn't be this brave today. Even though some people still calls me name today I just tell them that I was Born This Way. She taught me to reject anything or anyone that makes me feel I don't belong.
Michael Jackson: I have this dream I look up to; to be a pop conquistador just like Michael Jackson someday - I adore his moves and his angelic voice. Whenever I hear a song of MJ, I pray for the fame to come to me.
Madonna: Madonna actually gave me a peek into what pursuing a goal could be like.
Britney Spears: Even though, Britney lived a life without any privacy, she still showed the world that she is stronger and stronger everyday - and that inspires me in my daily life... TO BE STRONGER.

For the simple fact of how she worked her way up to being an artist, she spent half her life (ish) auditioning all over the country for shows and musicals etc. and eventually got noticed. I think its inspiring that she worked so hard to get what she wanted, and she actually works hard for her successes still, she hasnt let fame change her and she is still so down to earth and genuine.
Of course there are more and bigger people that I consider to be idols, but i use Pixie whenever I can

I look up to my mother because she a strong woman who raise me all by herself. Back when I was little my mother was my only friend and she did everything in her will to protect me. My family and my father didn't help her with nothing, but it didn't stop her for getting her job done with me. I thank god to have a wonderful mom in the world.

Madonna : I look up to Madonna because I feel like (beside my mother) she raise me through her music. Madonna is a strong woman who can take care of herself with no problem. I always love that about her! Madonna opinion about being equal rights about race,gay/bi/str8 and other problem that happen in America make me love her more.I love the fact that she don't give a **** what people said about her because at the end of the day she making her money and I want to be like that! She got me realize when people talk about negative or positive stuff, they only making me popular. Madonna is my second mother.

Parents are a given. Both got several jobs and put themselves through college while having several kids.
My Uncle & Aunt both went from struggling young teens to degree having pastors & nurses
Jay/Bey basically created their own empire. Their strong worth ethic and determination on perfecting their craft amazes me.
Van Gogh, Georgia O Keeffe—both amazing visual artists. As a Visual Communications (graphic design) major they both inspire me greatly.

Seriously, I have no one to look up to in my family. They antagonised my parents and are jealous of their success.
I only look up to my parents. They started with nothing and did a damn good job, it's not easy to get where they're at when you're a black african inimigrant in France. They gave me an excellent education (minus the hoe-ness but it's not their fault!) and if it wasn't for them, I prolly wouldn't be in such a good position of having myself the opportunity to have a great career.
As for the celebs, I can't rely look up to anybody, I don't really know them. But I'd say Beyoncé. Being hot, talented, HARD WORKING and successful is my ultimate goal.
I also appreciate what Mandela, MLK and Obama did for us black men. We're getting there slowly but surely.

Well I dont want to put my family/friend role modells because there very personal.
My celebrity role models are:
1.The biggest one is Avril Lavigne. For a long time I just tried to fit in with everyone else and be normal but now i'm one of those people who's proud to be wierd and stand out from the crowd. I'm still shy and always will be (another reason I can relate to Avril) but now I stand up for my self a lot more and take risks. Songs like Freak Out and Who Know's inspire me to live life to the fullest and be myself. If it wasn't for Avril I probably wouldn' have come out as early as I did.
2.Lady Gaga. Much like Avril she inspires me to enjoy life and be a free bitch lol. Her music and image inspire me to allow myself to be free and do what I want. It also further extends that message of be proud to be yourself
3.Taylor Swift. I can relate to her songs so much and they inspire me not to let people get me down and that i'll find my place. Her songs also show me that haters opinions don't matter and that nice hard working people will rise above the bullies (she was bullied and treated badly at school and now she's one of the most successful people in the world)
I'm in a really good happy place in my life now but for a long time I wasn't. These women helped get me to that happy place with their music so thats why I see them as role models. I know this was kinda cheesy but oh well.

My parents, plainy because they take care of me, put up with me and support me in my dreams or whatever I want to do.
Gaga, one thing I've learned from obsessing over her was that delusion is sometimes a good thing (I swear no one better throw shade at me for this later). When I walk around the city with my friends I carry myself in a much better way, almost as if I own **** (but not in a stuck up or cocky way). I also succeed in standing out from everyone in my cesspool of a school by just being an individual.
David Bowie, my mom used to play me Bowie all of the time when I was little. I looked up to him because he was one of the first flamboyant performers I listened to. He broke so many rules and did things that were "frowned upon" back then that his influence on me stretched way beyond being just a rock star.

- Parents DUH.
- My boss. He's so smart and nice and successful and down to earth. I am striving to acquire the same analytical and critical thinking skills that he possesses.
As for the celebrities:
- P!nk: I think what she did with Stupid Girls was very influential, even though I'm not a girl or I'm not too dumb. She pretty much told me that shallow life is not cool and you must have ambitions. That made me more determined.

- My mom, she's such a strong, brave woman who had to raise 2 kids by herself since my father is a crack addict. I admire her strength, and her ability to get through tough times without showing everyone how much it bothers her. She's always so kind and generous to everybody, even the people who don't deserve it. She's also very open-minded and gives everything/everybody a chance.
- Britney Spears, because she has overcome hard times all of her life. Growing up in a small town in Louisiana, and making the leap to superstardom is no easy task, and she did it all with a big, beautiful smile on her face. She stayed strong for so many years, and I admire how honest she was about where she came from and what was going on in her life, when she'd talk about everything in interviews. She's always been so down to earth and hasn't really let the fame go to her head. She can still appreciate her hometown, her family, her close friends, etc. But most of all, I admire her realness. Her breakdown proved to the world that even celebrities have souls (and hearts), that both can be broken. She still managed to pick up all of the broken pieces of her life and went on to release a new album less than a year later. Amazing.
- Rihanna, she is also a strong, beautiful woman. And another good example of staying true to yourself and remembering where you came from. She's also very charitable and is always giving to organizations. She seems to be able to really appreciate her fans as well, as in all of the fan encounter videos I've seen, she's always been nothing but sweet to them. She's even kind to her haters. She was also very strong and brave throughout the whole Chris Brown incident, and also released an album less than a year after it all went down. She speaks very openly about her life and seems to have nothing to hide, and I really admire that. She admits when she's wrong and grows/learns from all of her mistakes in life. She's a good example of reinvention in both a physical and emotional way.

My family, especially with last year dealing with some really cards that life dealt out.
Oprah - Deals out for the business with compassion side of me.
Ellen / Dane Cook - Humor
John Elway / Kyle Orton / Tim Tebow - Making success
There's others I could list, but these are just the top of my head.
