To be honest, a lot of the common folk in the world don't know that she's releasing new material. This means that the hype will be grueling for us, but it will pay off in terms of promo and charting.

My mother isn't even aware Alejandro was a single.. She's really not THAT overexposed to the general public.. Only people like us who use the internet.. That's where she's gruelingly overexposed.

Exactly. Everything is magnified on the world wide web. Most of my friends are like "wow, when is she gonna come out with new stuff, it's been forever." But here she's everywhere haha.
Wasn't the date half expected though? Some people are acting too dramatic. It was going either going to be before the tour or after and it makes much more sense to release after. They sold the tickets to The Monster Ball Tour so they are going to perform that show. Although I agree with Celestials earlier post, this leg was completely unnecessary. But after its over she'll have time to promote the album and start a brand new tour. It's really not that long. Its 5 months, but we'll be getting a single in 6 weeks. With the single, performances, photo shoots, a music video, time will fly by.

She's Interscope's biggest money maker. They will have very thoroughly thought out this release strategy. I wouldn't be too worried.

it's pretty obvious that she was releasing the album AFTER the tour. Not to mention, she wouldn't release the album so close to the single. She's doing things right this era. First single months before the album. then when the album is released, she'll release the second single.
