5. Going out for my 23rd birthday. I guess? It was a great time. I ate Whataburger with my friend Oscar, whom I've known since I was five years old, and his fiancée. Later on, we went to see
Dinner for Shmucks with two other friends, Louis and Maritza. Oscar and Yaneth went home and I stayed up with Louis and Maritza until 6 AM. We made a trip to Wal-Mart to buy a game (Scattergories.) Proof that you don't need to get wasted in order to have fun.
4. The Birthday Massacre concert on August 11th. I met a few of the members, including lead singer Chibi, who is extremely sweet and a very talented, beautiful performer. They played four new songs from the album
Pins and Needles, which was released a month later. They are awesome live and seriously the best Canadian band since Our Lady Peace.
3. Finally upgrading to a cellphone that was made in the 21st century. I previously had a Motorola RAZR. The Samsung Intensity II is my first phone with a full keypad, and even though it was given to me before Thanksgiving, it's by far my favorite Christmas present.
2. Gigiouija. After spending most of the past five years single and lonely, I found the smartest, sweetest, most open-minded girl I could ever ask for. We've been together since August 25th.
1. Korn concert on May 30th. My sixth time seeing them live, but I had only met Munky and Fieldy once at the 2006 Family Values Tour. At this recent show, I got to meet the entire band, plus the touring keyboardist, backstage. They signed my poster which can be seen below. The actual concert wasn't so bad either.
