In the US, yes.
WW no.
But Crossroads made a lot more money because of its budget, and Burlesque wont make back its budget, so Crossroads is more successful.

I never thought this would be a question. I was always sure that Burlesque, with its big budget, big stars, bigger screen count and decade of inflation, would blow Crossroads out of the water.
Even if it beats it, it will be by a slim margin.

So this is really doing bad? Doesn't it have Golden Globe noms, shouldn't that increase sales? Maybe this will be successful at DVD/Home Theaters.

I was only 7 and I remember begging my mom to see it with me just because Britney was in it, I didn't even know what it was about. and I cried.
It's really a great movie.

In the USA? Maybe only by 1 million. But when you adjust inflation rates and see what Crossroads figures would look like in 2010, then it's at $45 million in the US. However, worldwide? Hell no!
And you want to know what? That's embarrassing for Christina. Britney was the only star in Crossroads. Christina had about a million and one other established stars in the movie, yet she can't even outgross Crossroads ww?
Burlesque has already been released in some of the biggest markets in the world and it's tanked so badly. It's a UK disaster. It only grossed £600k in the UK in it's opening week. Crossroads grossed £1.1 million in it's opening week back in 2002.
Burlesque will be lucky to even hit $50 million at this rate, the movie is really flopping. Considering it cost $55 million to make and an extra $40+ million to promote and market, that's $95 million spent on this box office bomb.
Someone at Screen Gem is going to get fired.

You ladies can't forget inflation and total number of attendance for Crossroads. Ticket prices have increased throughout the years.
