Skype, one of the most popular Voice over IP [VoIP] services, appears to be currently down for millions of users around the world. The service has reportedly been down for more than one hour now. Many have already taken it to Twitter to express their frustration.
The issues experienced by individuals seem to vary. For instance, some users are completely unable to sign in. Those lucky enough to gain access indicate that the service crashes after a few minutes. The performance issues affect both the computer and mobile versions of Skype. I, personally, am connected fine on my BlackBerry Smartphone. However, I’m unable to log in on my computer.
When asked for comment, Skype Communications Lead Peter Parkes released the following statement:
“Some people may have problems signing in to Skype at the moment. We’re investigating – apologies for the disruption. People can follow @skype on Twitter for updates.”

It's fine for Apple Mac users I guess since mine has never been down..
Nope.. Mine was messed up too, and I have a Mac. I could sign in, but I couldn't go "online" at all. I think it's fixed on my end now though, because now I am "online" finally.
