Britney and Lady Gaga are pretty much around the same measure of impact. Very Big. But what sets Britney ahead is that she paved the way for Lady Gaga? How did she pave the way for Lady Gaga? Well going back to 1999, Britney became the IT popstar. She the first of many. Female pop stars were about to come a brand. But no one would even touch Britney's success that tried to clone her. This formula didn't die. Though the sound has changed throughout the years, the still try to get that IT popstar like Britney. Gaga is that IT popstar. Even, more recently albums like Blackout (2007), set the way for The Fame (2008). Now yes Britney and Gaga are influenced by Madonna but each of these ladies has had their impact. Gaga is starting her journey right now and will continue to have a successful career, I can see it. But you can always trace some of impact of Britney to Gaga. Like Britney or not you have to admit it.

What makes you say this? The Grammys are one establishment if that was a reference, not the public. Otherwise, as far as the music public goes, if GaGa released a bad song it wouldn't do well. Her reviews are that of any other pop artist as well. And the general public doesn't care about who writes the music.
