This is always been a huge problem with the Golden Globes. With only 80-odd members at any given time, it's so easy for studios to try and bribe their votes. It's funny, I'm not sure how this ever became such a popular and respected awards show in the first place...

In a move that lays bare the fact that not even recipients take the event too seriously, Angelina Jolie revealed that she had reacted to her nomination for The Tourist as a joke. "We were laughing because it's the first time that I've been in the comedic category so it's new for me."
But it's nothing new. The Best Comedy/Musical category has ALWAYS included some huge critical and commercial flops. Especially if it's a musical - they include musicals just to justify the name of the category.
