The enormous popular Dutch talentshow The Voice of Holland has been sold to the States! It also got sold to several European countries, but NBC already starts broadcasting in Spring 2011!

Why is this something great? Because there are blind auditions that just focus on the vocal capabilities of a person instead of personality and looks. Auditionees will also be picked before they get a chance to do audition, so no people who can;t sing!

So they win the prize based on their talent, but then what happens when they get to Hollywood where it's shallower than a kiddie pool?

Individuals will be eliminated until each celebrity only has one team member left who will compete in the finals to be named “The Voice of America” in a live finale. To guarantee that the celebrities pick the best of the best, the series introduces a unique twist – the initial audition process is blind; coaches can only hear the singer but cannot see them.

The show’s format will feature three stages of competition. The first begins with the blind audition, then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows.
