OG & WMN? are both pop hits & smashing the same format. Of course that means they are going to take potential sales away from each other. If WMN? wasn't out OG would most likely be close to or above 2x platinum already. The dual release was for album sales purposes.
I don't think S&M is gonna be affected by RM getting urban airplay while S&M is getting pop/mainstream airplay.
Do you really believe that they are taking sales away from each other? Sure, they are competing for the same spins on radio. But each costs only $1.29 on iTunes. I doubt there are too many people stressing over whether they should buy "Only Girl" or "What's My Name?" because they can't afford both.
Yessss, CKB is a HUGE HITTT!
She could actually win a Grammy or Two with the song,
for best female pop vocal or even record of the year perhaps.
The song is infectious!!!
ugh. why can't they get it? S&M will lose URBAN SPINS something Only Girl and What's My Name had. Rihanna's airplay is big because she gets spins from all formats. This won't happen this time becaue she's releasing two different singles to differnent formats.

Honestly, much like "Only Girl," "S&M" doesn't really sound like an urban hit. It's probably a smart choice on their part servicing another single to urban radio, because it keeps Rihanna on the air in that market and in the minds of those consumers.
Grenade will be coming for the Top 5 and then maybe #1
Yes
K I'll say this again. S&M will have pop and rythmic support only. But Raining Men will take up some that Urban play and Whos That Chick will take up some on S&Ms pop play.
WTC's impact on S&M would be rather minimal though. WMN and OG did little to none in stalling each other, I doubt a song where Rihanna's merely a featured artist would hamper her main single's radioplay.
1. Katy Perry - Firework [+1] That's for sure!
2. Rihanna Ft. Drake - What's My Name? [+1]
3. Bruno Mars - Grenade [+7]
4. P!nk - Raise Your Glass [-3]
5. Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit) [+4]
6. Ke$ha - We R Who We R [=]
7. Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are [-2]
8. Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) [-4]
9. Nelly - Just A Dream
10. Far East Movement Ft. The Cataracs & Dev - Like A G6 [-2]
I predict:
Glee Cast - Dog Days Are Over (Glee Cast Version) can debut at #15!

My choice is to hold off on S&M until the end of January when OG is dead (recurrent) and WMN is peaking on PoP. Release the video in February and rule the spring!!!!!
