Ugh, the labels are really not getting much sympathy from me because their business model is what is flawed. They need to make people CARE about music again, and when people CARE about the music that they love and their favorite artists, then they will CARE about buying music and becoming music consumers. Its not that people don't like music....everyone likes music. Its just that there is a shift in the focus over the past years to singles and single songs, but people still have their faves. The labels need to learn how to TAP that potential.
Look at Taylor Swift and GaGa.
