Im still holding down on WMN? to be in the top 2. WMN is being streamed more than Firework and also bigger airplay. Its gaining on iTunes s maybe it can fill the gap. Only time can tell.

I like both , Katy and Rihanna.

But if you want to compare them you have to consider all the facts.

And Katy has 2 almost 3 number 1 hits from the same album.
Rihanna is doing amazing this era.
But she has been around since 2005.
And has hits with Eminem, T.I. (in his best moment), Jay Z, Drake (in his best moment).
I'm not saying she doesn't deserve it. Of course, she's talented and great artist.

But i think this is Katy Year as Female Artist.

Tres HUGE succesful singles (one featuring Snoop it's true but it's a Katy song) and a #1 album that is selling (not millions, but it's selling good) and plus a grammy nomination for album of the year.

Maybe Rihanna will be in the same conditions with her next single.

This year's number ones seem to be weak, one week on then leave, it ain't like 2009 with BEP domination. :-/

When it comes down to it, the most successful female of this year is Rihanna. Katy has had a great year! California Gurls, amazing song. I hate that #1 album reason. In fact, their first week sales were nearly the same. Its just about the competiton. Def jam just could have picked an 'easy' week...BUT HEY i dont wanna start anything.

I wouldnt say their first weeks were near. 15, 000 difference is not necessarily "near"

I don't base an aritst's dominance on first week album sales. In the END we will see who ends up on top.
