I love Paramore too, but I don't see them as an alternative band.
I think I'll do an indie genre another time. Alt is kind of a hard genre to define. A lot of rock that is borderline pop is called alternative, but the ones you mentioned Rafael are the true alternative artists.

Yeah. When I can't classify an artist as Pop, Rock, Urban, Country, etc, I call them "altenative". It's like "none of the above". "Alternative" acts have very different and unique music so that makes it hard to define.

Alternative is such a vast genre. People count almost anything from Modern rock, to punk pop to indie rock as alternative. So it's hard to tell. But here are some that are classified as alternative often:
