I didn't even take the time to download Nelly's album. What were his singles? Just A Dream? That was pop radio trash so of course it got him tons of digital downloads, but again it's a POP song. It's 2010. Flo Rida and others took the singer-rapper lane and milked it for everything it was worth. It's over now. You have to do more than a simple pop song to generate interest and differentiate yourself from the Flo Rida's.

Plus he seems so dull.



Why does the cover look so cheap? 5.0 meaning what? He is truly lost. I forgot about Brass Knuckles (his last album that flopped)...was that the label's fault too? He wants to complain about his rankings on "all-time" lists and his poor sales, but he has not put out good music in YEARS. He has no one to blame, but himself.

His image needs major re-working, there's nothing interesting about him.

I hope he doesn't keep releasing JAD-type songs now that it's been so successful. It's not what he needs.

No one is checking for Nelly anymore. people lost interest. Just a dream was a hit, but that **** is forgetable. Nothing memorable like "dilemma" "hot in here" etc.

He should sell pretty steady through the holiday's. Top 200k maybe by the time their over and if he releases at least another top 10 or top 20 song he could go gold.

How about the fact that JAD alienated any chance of securing hip hop fans for buying the album - and all the tweens who lapped up the single just ended up buying it on iTunes instead of purchasing the album.

Nelly's first problem is even worrying about record sales. Artists make so little money off record sales anyway..but they care because they're afraid low sales will mean they aren't relevant. You can make plenty of money and have a great career just putting out hit singles and going on tour even if your album sells for ****. Nelly is relevant right now (he's all over the radio, playing radio station concerts across the country, 31 million views on Youtube) and his album won't sell more than 500,000 units. There's nothing wrong with that. He can keep putting out "Just a Dream's" for the rest of his career and roll around in the money.
