Just Dance spent 3 weeks at #1. It was never realistic to expect it to dominate the charts for weeks because it took it a long time to climb the chart, it had already sold a substantial amount before it even hit #1. Poker Face only spent one week at number one because of Right Round and Boom Boom Pow. She was unfortunate, all of her major hits have clashed with other huge singles.

If Ke$ha and Katy Perry can debut with #1s, so can Lady Gaga. She arguably has more digital power than both of them.

Yasssssssssssssssssss. That song was one of the first GaGa songs I heard. Ever since then I was like, I love this bitch.

It was the best selling song that week, and it sold enough to top the hot 100 so that's all that matters. She was #1 primarily because of her sales.

Katy never debut, Ke$ha did.

Well Gaga really has never had BIG selling weeks, besides BR. She has the longevity though
Just Dance should have had more weeks at no.1. The week it sold 416,000 it was planted at no.2 because of the airplay of Single Ladies, from Beyonce. Poker Face consisently outsold BBP for many of the weeks it was at no.2, but her airplay was lacking. She was clashing would radio monsters, that's why she hasn't had more weeks at no.1 than she should have

I really wished she would have released that to Urban, I wanted to see how well it would have done

It all goes back to Bad Romance. It didn't have impressive opening sales so now so many of GaGa's supposed stans are underestimating her selling power. Are they forgetting she has 3 singles that have sold over 4 million copies? GaGa is more popular now than she was before. She has spent the past two years strengthening her fanbase. If her first single appeals to the casual buyer instantly like CG and WRWWR did then she's going to open with monstrous numbers.

I don't think it's fair to judge her first two singles because her debut was sort of odd. It took her a while to blow up. As for BR, Paparazzi was out at the exact same time.

This time around, everyone will be anticipating the single and she'll have had months and months of no new music. The only way she won't have massive first week sales for her single is if it legitimately sucks.

but that's the same with Britney. She never stays #1 for more than a week like Gaga.
