Due to increasing attention being paid toward websites that offer leaked music for download, we can't continue to give you the option of using the
("Leak") prefix for posting new threads in Music News.
This is something we have to do. As a result, we have to reorganize Music News. I've been experimenting with some of the threads in Music News the last few days to see what makes sense, and this is what I came up with.
Music News
Headlines of any kind that have to do with new music. This means
ALL future music gets this prefix.
Post a new thread when something totally new happens. Use headlines like "Avril Lavigne's new album is called 'Goodbye Lullaby'", or "Madonna to enter the studio again", or "Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' tracklisting is here!!!" (I wish).
Album
Use for albums that are
finalized and
currently available, whether leaked on the Internet or released properly.
If the album is being streamed during its pre-release, link to that. If some of the songs are up on YouTube, embed those. Otherwise, link to iTunes or Amazon where people can buy it eventually.
If it leaked ahead of time and it's
nowhere to be found except for unauthorized downloads, please tell us how you found out about it, but don't link to the unauthorized download, no matter what. More on that later.
Single
Use for singles that are
finalized and
currently available, whether leaked on the Internet or released properly.
Embed the official YouTube stream for the single, if there is one. Otherwise, link to another legit website where people can listen to the song, or link to iTunes or Amazon where they can buy it.
This means, sadly, the "link on my wall" and "LOMW" days are over. If you post an unauthorized link on your wall, you can be
warned (3 points) just as you would for posting the same link inside a thread. I know, I know.
I wish we could allow you to post anything. I wish ATRL could be the place to go to get everything for free, right out in the open. Who wouldn't love that? But we can't do that. We must protect ATRL.
If you care about ATRL at all, you won't post unauthorized links anymore. Link to legit, legal sources only. Everything else must be totally private.
This will probably work out, but if it doesn't, we'll make adjustments. Gotta do what we gotta do.

Now people are going to want threads for other countries.. his thread is already a mess so I don't see why it should be able to stay. And the 2 points says I got it for TROLLING when I wasn't trolling? Posting a dancing padlock means I'm trolling now?
