Not all albums drop 70% their second week. That's why it's really bad when they do. 50% might be more typical, which is why, with Black Friday, it will hopefully be less than 50%.
I know it increases sales but don't they want to make some money too? This is like the 57th discount and it's still relatively early in its run.
$6.99 is still more than the price of the three singles though. Think of it that way. Chances are, lowering the price of the album will actually yield more revenue for them than if they just left the price of the album alone and more people opted to buy the singles.

Well, knowing that having increased sales are better than lack of sales, I think that they are willing to forsake some extra $$$ to get more sales. Also, they can rest assured that she is going to be generating steady income for them because of her stream of Top 10 hits that will flow from this album.
HDD predicted 25-50k, I guess....it's headed now in the 45k++ territory, because since the movie got released, it jumped inside the Top 10 and leap-frogged every major albums released including Pink Friday, it all depends now on the physical sales!
