On this map, territories are re-distributed according on how much population they have. That way, China, being the country with the highest amount of population, is re-located on the place of the country with the largest territory ( Russia ), India is the 2nd most populated country, so it is re-located on the 2nd largest country of the world ( Canada ), and so on.
Take a look at Japan and Indonesia, they need to have a lot of more territory comparing to what they actually have.
