IT’S A HEAD SCRATCHER: There’s a new name on Kanye West’s ever-growing list of haters. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the first of five new releases selling for $3.99 today as Amazon MP3’s Daily Deal. As a result, Kanye's getting no love at the iTunes Store, even with the standard and deluxe versions of the album holding the #1 and #2 positions on the iTunes albums chart. Interestingly, My Chemical Romance’s Danger Days, another Daily Deal, received a tile and a slot in the rotation at the top of the welcome page at iTunes. Of the rest, we see no sign of Ne-Yo or Robyn, while Dane Cook had a tile yesterday, but it’s gone this morning. Go figure. (11/23a)
GO WEST: Looks like Kanye West and Nicki Minaj will go 1-2 on next week’s HITS album chart. West’s much-acclaimed Roc-A-Fella/IDJ release My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy hit the streets yesterday and looks now like it will break 500k. Meanwhile, Susan Boyle’s The Gift keeps on giving. This week, the Columbia album will repeat at #1, down only about 10-15% from last week’s total of 321k. With Black Friday looming, though, these numbers could all change, so stay tuned. (11/23p)

iTunes has publicly said many times before it will pull albums completely off iTunes if labels participate in Amazon MP3 deals. Guess they won't actually go that far and only took away his banner/promotion.
Quote:
"When that happened," the executive says, "iTunes said, 'Enough of that ****.' "
Sources say that iTunes representatives have been urging labels to rethink their participation in the Amazon promotion and that they have backed up those warnings by withdrawing marketing support for certain releases featured as Daily Deals.
