Perry descended dramatically from the ceiling to cavort with dancers brandishing pyrotechnic flares. The only part of the package that could have used some work was Perry's occasionally sour vocals. Grade: C+

Their points are valid about Kesha, but it was more than I expected and I was quite surprised.
I did notice the backing vocalists were louder than usual thou.
And I missed Taylor's, but they say best performance of the night? Hmm K.
Katy's vocals aren't always bad. Firework does her no favors b/c that chorus requires a strong vocalist. Even when it's on the radio sometimes I change the station b/c the screeching bugs me.
Taylor actually wasn't bad at all. She improved a lot from her previous performances.
Tbh, her performances on AMA and CMA were on par. I didn't see much improvement there but inserting that Apologize chorus inside BTD was brilliant nevertheless. EW is implying that Taylor is up for more Grammys next year. Beyonce better be quick with her album release

Her voice is too high on that record. It's a good dance/drunk/party song
but when I'm sober, I cannot deal with that noise.
