Josh has never had large first week opening sales, just extreme longevity, and huge christmas sales for his last album since it was a xmas album.
And Taylor was at 220k, did you expect her to drop like nothing when its not a holiday or important week yet?
The only thing people had the right to predict and assume someone was gonna sell more than Rihanna was Rascal.

Josh had 405k last year, when he blew**. I know it was a Xmas album, but still it was a big week so it's right-minded to think he could've carried it. Taylor could've dropped very little. She was always a "maybe".
So yes, yes.
Either way, its GREAT she's moved up. You should be celebrating.

OMG, i cant believe RIHANNA only performed like twice and her album promotions already ended. ok except for the AMA if yall count that as well? SERIOUSLYY? DEJ JAM? she only went on LETTERMAN and sing ONE SONG, then GMA and dat pretty much it?
TAYLOR SWIFT promoted from monday to sunday on every single freakin channels ...............

Rihanna did have 106 & Park for the Urban crowd, the GMA Concert Series (Today Show), the Times Square MTV's the Seven event, and Letterman and radio interviews + the AMA's.
Thats quite a lot.

A lot of disapppointing first week sales in general this week. Mainly Rascal Flatts, Nelly & Lee DeWyze.
The good ones are Jackie, Rihanna & Keith Urban.

random question, all these beatles albums on itunes... Are they eligible to chart in next weeks Billboard 200 even if they are really old albums ??

Just like Michael.
They are catalog pop.
And they arent even that high on iTunes, so the albums in the top 10 are probably on selling about 10k each.

But what else could she really have done that would have helped sales?
Nothing seemed to help that much besides the MTV's the Seven takeover in Times Square.

Can anyone explain why Rihanna's album sales are never that high, but GGGB:R sold 70k in its first week, with only 2 new Rihanna songs, and one collab?
Those were excellent sales.

it will definitely increase the album sales. it may not be much, but at least several grants. Taylor was predicted to sell 700k, but ended up selling 300K more than second day prediction because of her heavy promotions.
