Dignity happened. While it legitimized her as an artist in a lot of peoples' eyes, got critical acclaim, and still sold well, it isolated her Disney fans and because the sound and image of that era were more mature, Hollywood Records didn't want to support it as much. Then soon after that her contract with HR expired.
She could still make a comeback. Hopefully she will sign with a smart label who cares about her success and understands where her strongest markets are. First she should focus on international and US Dance/Club play markets because she definitely won't flop in those markets, and then start working her way back into the US mainstream from the outside in. Then once she comes up with a smash, send it for adds, and back it up with a radio tour. She'll do fine.

Lindsay She never really took her singing career seriously, she just looked at like a hobby and that is why she failed, I wouldn't even call her a successful singer because most people (outside of the music world) can't even name a song she has sung.

Drugs, bad parents, alcohol, drugs, and drugs.
She was already too far into her pattern to be stopped. I think she is out of jail now but I wouldn't be surprised if she went back in soon.
That said, Stuck is an amazing song

Essentially what everyone had said: talented actress, mediocre singer. Her music never achieved mass success, but she never really invested a lot of time into it. She played to her strengths in acting. Then she delved into drugs and her personal life has been a mess ever since.

She's talented and a lot better singer than Hilary. She's got it going on under her hands but she messed up. Although, with that immense of an acting talent, she could rebound any time she wants -- only if she really wants. Someone needs to send her in a slum to realize that she's wasting the opportunities away.

She's a good singer, yes, but better than Hilary? hell naw. Lindsay can't hit a high note for life

Anyways, Lindsay Lohan is a talented actress and a mediocre singer, she needs to stop doing drugs and alcohol and focus on her career. People still care for her.
