I'm really tempted to buy that box set... but it's probably a terrible idea. I hate digital music. I should just get all their albums.

Is N'Sync one of the best selling artists ever and highly respected and praised by critics and industry folks? No.

As a society we need to get over this concept that dissing old boybands like the Beatles invalidates your overall artistic taste. Objectively, the Beatles were a poor band, poor singing, poor musicianship, but decent songwriting skills. It is no crime to admit this. When performed by others, some of their songs come alive. But when performed by themselves their stuff is no better than any lame garage band. Their music is not special. You don't have to pretend that it is. Everyone needs to stop pretending.

We read the book Catcher in the Rye earlier this year at school.
The protagonist was nothing but a whiny, self-centered, troubled youth that you find in almost any novel targeted at teens.
In my opinion there's nothing remotely special about this novel and all the hype it has received is undeserved.
I thought 'Why am I reading this? I could read Twilight and it'll make no difference to me,'
Then I realized: Hey, this may seem like your average run of the mill story but when it was written it totally changed the literary game.
Everyone wanted to read a novel like Catcher in the Rye.
The writing style became so ingrained in novels today that you hardly think of it as anything special.
Basically what I'm saying is you might not think their music is special now, after everyone's jacked their style and drove it into the ground, but when they came out their music was revolutionary.
The impacted that they have left of music is undeniable; even if you don't know they music you make, the music hear, the music you've heard and the music you will hear was influnced by them.
The same way Madonna and Michael Jackson will have a forever lasting mark on pop music.

I wish there was a way to positive rep posts here, because I would do so for this post. Numerous times.
Anyone expecting to change Kworb's mind on the matter should just stop while they are ahead, though. Trust me, I've had my fair share of music arguments with Kworb. He's a rock. A rock that actually hates The Beatles AND Queen, but a rock nonetheless.

Let us not forget that they were the source of inspiration for another great rock band: Oasis.
This may sound random but "And I Love Her" was one of the very first songs I memorized in English back in elementary school. After all these years, it still sounds fresh.

Oh Apple with your hyperbolic nature. I will definitely not remember today for the rest of my life.
Surely those who care enough about the Beatles would have their albums in some other form by now.

I'm not a Beatles fan but their impact is definitely irrefutable, plus most of their music reflect that of the teenage angst that was probably suppressed during their times. They impeccably revolutionized rock n roll music for what it's worth and I think that was their credit for. I confess that they're highly overrated but their songs are intrinsically infectious. When we say infectious, it is loosely tossed around nowadays as trash.
