I wouldn't necessarily put animals and humans at the same level, but I do resent the way they are generally treated. They may be more "primitive" than we are, but animals are also living creatures with brains, emotions and the ability to feel pain. It is one thing to recognize and use the benefits of animal products, but we are constantly abusing our biological dominance by exploiting their natural resources and skills. That is simply not okay. Just because we don't understand what it is like to be an animal does not mean that we can't treat them with compassion and empathy, especially when we are the ones reaping all the rewards from the relationship.

Well, I have a very radical view on this one. I feel sometimes that animals deserve to live more than humans.

I think our ultimate goal as a society should be to live in unison with animals. I know that animals kill other animals all the time, but as humans we have the ability to differentiate between right and wrong, thanks to that thing called a "conscious" that we were either gifted or cursed with (still on the fence with that haha).
But the way things are now are not how we should operate as a society. All animals should have the right to live in dignity as well, and not be slaughtered inhumanely.

Agree
I think animals and humans should live in harmony together. I believe that all animals should not be killed inhumanely or maliciously because that is just plain wrong.

This is a wishy-washy area...
With regards to fur, animal testing and all that, I strongly believe animals should not be used. I'm okay with animal research because these days we have strict ethical guidelines for it.

Meh.....
I'm much more concerned w/ human rights rather than animals rights. Humans always come first for me. I like animals though.
Also, no, animals should NOT be looked the same as humans.

at these overly liberal and hippie views.
I think alot of people like animals because they don't talk, they are easily to manipulate, and they are usually friendly (assuming they are domesticated). Humans are different from animals because we have personal desires instead of only needs. Animals only go by internal instinct. No matter how much these radical animal-lovers are, at the end of the day, if it were to come down to it, they would understand that animals are nowhere close to importance than people.
I think animals should be treated with respect. I think it's important not to throw trash in the ocean, etc. but I do NOT think animals come before humans. I think it's ridiculous when people say they shouldn't be used for product testing. Most of the medications, skin care products, etc. used in every day life had to be tested on something. There are plenty of squirrels and bunny rabbits to go around. There is only one of each human. So are you saying we should risk testing it on a human being, which could result in their death? Please. Put that **** on an animal ASAP.

You don't make sense. You say that there are many squirrels and bunnys to go around, but only one of each human. There are plenty of humans to go around too, 6 billion of us. And if you are trying the other argument, there are only one of each bunny and squirrel too
