A man was killed by gunfire Sunday evening at St. Anthony and North Rocheblave streets, New Orleans police said.

The shooting occurred just after 8 p.m., said Marlon Defillo, New Orleans Police Department assistant superintendent.

Shortly after the shooting, the body lay on a St. Anthony Street sidewalk, with a large crowd of people gathered around. The identity of the slain man, who was 22, was not released, and police had no suspects.

Police said there was a house party nearby, and they were trying to determine whether the shooting was related.
