I don't hate Katy, I actually quite like her. Her delusional stans are the people I have a problem with.

1. She's quite new. TD is her second album. She's not an well established artist.

2. Ke&ha sold that much thanks to Katy & her album was on $6.99 discount

3. I think that CG is generic. YES. But not her complete album. Gaga is an exception.

Katy Perry is an established act, your excuses are wearing thin. She has had 3 #1 singles, that should be enough to sell albums.

Ke$ha sold that much because of Katy? I think you're confusing the situation, it was Katy that copied Ke$ha. CG was Katy's biggest hit, but it didn't come close to the original.

There was no problem with the release date. They had it planned for months, they deliberately released at that time with high expectations. Even her haters expected more from her.

I agree with everything you said, but this statement is incorrect (I assume you weren't referring to Katy Hudson). Animal sold 1 million and One of the Boys sold 1.3 million in the U.S. and the gap between the two albums is even larger worldwide. If Animal wasn't getting re-released it would probably shift another 200-300k max.

And what Sammi means by "problematic release date," is that they held off the album too long and should have released it at the height of CG.

I was unsure whether or not Ke$ha had sold more albums than Katy, but I new they were both in and around the same mark. I agree that Ke$ha probably wouldn't sell much more if she wasn't getting a re-release. Globally Katy is a bigger star than Ke$ha, Katy has no problem scoring hits in the UK, Ke$ha's only had one.

I don't agree with that, I know a lot of people do but I view it as an excuse. Katy's hype hadn't really died down by the time they released the album, TD the single was just as big as CG radio-wise and it also managed to top the Hot 100. Her sales have not picked up much since, regardless of a "problematic" release date there's no reason why she shouldn't be selling well now when she has yet another single that is climbing towards the summit of the Hot 100. I don't think the release date was the problem, she just doesn't have the appeal to entice people to purchase her albums.

Everyone, just accept that Katys album sales are highly disappointing after releasing two of the biggest songs of the year, and Ke$ha's sales are relatively good for a new generic pop artist.
