I love Beyonce but them labeling her a pop artist sounds very fake and cheap. She should not be in that catergory because she has massive appeal but her music is not pop @ all. Britney, Rihanna, Katy, or Gaga should be there. Beyonce is more like "Best Live Act" or "Best International" or "Best Female" or "Best Song" or something. Not pop artist. I just looks very cheap to me. Still love the bitch. And "Telephone" needs to get someshine. That song was killing.
Apparently "Best Rock Group" means "Best Ac, Pop or rap crossover" group.
I love all those bands to pieces (well except Linkin Park. I like them. but i don't love them as much as i love the others). but still. None of them (besides maybe Nickelback or Paramore) are really real rock.
Paramore's pop-punk, Linkin Park is rap/rock crossover, Daughtry is AC (or AC Rock depending on which album you're talking about) Maroon 5 is total and complete pop and Nickelback is AC Rock.
I would have liked to see Rise Against or Stone Sour or an artist like THAT nominated. Not a really mainstream borderline pop or AC. :P
But then again, real rock music doesn't ever get credit in award shows. ever.
I voted Daughtry reguardless. lol. He's one of my favorite artists. but i just wish the real rock bands would have been given a chance. :P
We have a CMA and every other award is basically "Pop Music" awards (with ONE rock category). We should have a Rock Music Award Show. (*delusional*)
I'll stop talking. Everyone here probably disagrees with me very strongly lol I just have a very strong passion for rock music. :P
