I never understood why they blame Vanity Fair and L'Oreal for lightening Beyonce's skin. Think about it, why would they both use white backgrounds, then try to make someone lighter? You use dark background to make someone look lighter.
With the L'Oreal ad it's all about the lighting and the shade difference (or lack of there of) her eyebrows to her hair color. Usually they are supposed to be 2 shades darker than your hair, but in that ad they are the same and to make it even worse the hair/eyebrow color is really light.
