According to new reports, Lebanese pop princess Haifa Wehbe has hooked up with rapper Snoop Dogg for a new duet. The new song is titled “Yaga Toufin”, which is apparently an Iraqi phrase about picking grapes. Knowing that Snoop is on the track, I would automatically assume that the grapes refer to wine which means the song is about alcohol, but Haifa’s Muslim, it’s most probably not going to be about popping bottles in the club.
There’s no word on where the song will end up yet, but it has been recorded in both English and Arabic. However, given that it was written, composed and arranged by Arabs (Haitham Tarchichi, Adel Al Iraqi and Walid Al Masih) it’ll probably just be released in the Middle East. One would assume that at least one of the collaborators would be American if the song was intended for Snoop’s album.
This isn’t the first time that Haifa has worked with an international artist. Just recently she lent her vocals to French DJ David Vendetta for his song “Yama Layaly” — a Middle Eastern-infused house track. Haifa’s going international!
