He sounds like those weird, eccentric, barely-known artists that are "artists of the week" on indie hipster blogs. I'm sure some people will like it, but I can't.

I am not feeling the sound of this album. It's more of the same compared to his last album, but that was just an introductory. I thought Kid Cudi was supposed to change up his melancholy/emo/hipster sound for something more commercial? His label is so stupid. Instead of working on a new album, they should have pushed his last album harder. "Soundtrack of My Life" would have done decently.

Soundtrack 2 My Life was a hit waiting to happen. This album is even MORE melancholy/emo/hipster than the first one.

I guess i understand why his imagery for the album was so dark,

^ But what happened to all of the party records he was supposed to do? I remember he said that he was going in a different route. This album isn't commercial at all. The most commercial thing on that album is "Erase Me," and that didn't take off (yet). Seriously, what is his label thinking? A bunch of leftovers from The End of Day... Blah!

There is nothing wrong with the indie/hipster sound. I like it!
He will have some hit potentials. And I agree Soundtrack 2 My Life would have smashed the charts so hard.

Actually, he's not. But he was on track to be and still could be.

He doesn't have to be super commercial. Listening to the previews I can already hear growth from his last CD. I can't wait to listen to it in a few minutes.

I LOVE Kid Cudi. He's one of my favorite new artists and I actually prefer him over some of these overhyped new artists who shall remain nameless. I don't know... I just wish his music wasn't so dark, but then again, I really love his debut. Weird.

Really? That's what I like about it. I mean don't get me wrong, I like listening to fun music but when I am in a certain mood I enjoy listening to his dark music.

Although Embrace The Martian is a hot song and it's pretty cheerful but anyway his dark music is just perfect to me. I guess to each it's own. It's only his second album. I'm sure we are going to see a lot of different stuff from him in the future.
