It's because he's legally married in Connecticut. A marriage can keep you from being deported, but apparently not if it's a same-sex marriage.

Fraudulently applied for a green card, knowing the marriage was a sham. I do sympathize with illegals and their plight, since I'm a minority myself, but his step was to apply with the government for some type of asylum. The problem is he proved himself untrustworthy so the government just can't trust him anymore.

This is no longer about whether he married a woman vs marrying a man. If he tried to marry a woman, he'd be met with such difficulty because he scammed the government the first time around.

He is being deported for fraud, not for being gay.

Deportation is needed. NE had it right.

While I do sympathize with people here illegally who are doing jobs that Americans don't want anyway and trying to make a better life for themselves, I have no sympathy for people committing fraud to get in the country.
