A Music Label isn't really to blame because it is the artists job to stand out from the rest. They need to show the people who are willing to buy their music how great their album is through the process of promotion. It all comes down to the artist in the end.... in my opinion

Both the artist & label are to blame most of the time. Sometimes, though, one is more to blame than the other.

Honestly only a bit is to be blamed on labels. But I blame the artist. This is the artist's career, the label has plenty of others to worry about. You see numbers dropping, bitches better strip/sext/drink and drive/diss another artist, something to get there name in headlines. Not saying they will work, but my point is that if an artist TRULY wants success they will work to get it. And the label pays more attention to the successful artists.

The artists is backed by their label. No decent support from the label, little chance for success. :-/

The label has to mass produce and distribute albums and singles, especially physical copies.

I agree both the artist and the label are responsible, but other than pulling a Lindsay Lohan stunt, the label is the one in control of the success through their promotional campaign.

Of course the label plays a part,but if the artist isn't really bringing it(Music vids,music,performances)then they're to blame too.

I think the label is there to be the bridge to you and the public. So as an artists it's your job to keep the public interested.

IMO Artists should always work hard to please the general public(it's almost a given that your fans will buy your albums)

Not always.

It's not just label and artist...there's so many other factors.
