On the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday was Tyler Perry who opened up for the first time on being abused and molested three times before the age of 10. Perry was abused by his father so bad once that he blanked out for a few days!


Til this day, I don’t know why he did it. But I remember him cornering me in a room and hitting me with this vacuum cleaner cord. He would just not stop. There are all these welts on [me], the flesh that’s coming from my bone, and I had to wait for him to go to sleep,” Tyler says. “When he fell asleep, I ran to my aunt’s house, and she was mortified when she saw it

According to NecoleBitchie.Com The first time he was molested by a neighbor. They were building a birdhouse together when the man put his hands down his pants..Which he got his first erection and felt violated.

Not too long after that, Tyler was molested by a male nurse that he knew from church.

“[The man from church] used God and the Bible against me to justify a lot of the things that were going on. It was so horrible, and that was my first sexual experience, with this man performing oral sex on me as a boy.”

He was molested again by a friend’s mother. The woman put her son in the bathroom to take a bath and when Tyler was about to leave, she appeared in front of him wearing lingerie. She locked the door and when he tried to leave she said:

“You want to go home? Here’s the key? I come over to get it, and she puts it inside of herself and she tells me to get it. So I—I get the key, but I feel my body betraying me again because I felt an erection. This is so disgusting, you know, what these people did to this little boy.

The woman pulled him on top of her and Tyler had his first sexual experience.

Tyler went on to tell Oprah that the molestations left him confused sexually.

How could it not? I knew I liked the little girls in the neighborhood, but this man was doing something to me and my body kept betraying me. It took me all of my 20s to figure out what this was that this man had given me to carry inside of my heterosexuality that did not belong to me. This is why so many men will not talk about this—the shame of having to admit that.

Being molested affected his relationships…

“All of these people had given me something to carry,” Tyler says. “I think that everyone who’s been abused, there is a string to the puppet master, and they’re holding you hostage to your behaviors and what you do. At some point, you have to be responsible for them. What I started to do is untie the strings and chase them down to where they came from. And I was able to free myself and understand that even though these things happened to me, it was not me.”

Tyler has forgiven his father but he doesn’t want him to be a part of his life. After his father heard him talk about the abuse, he sent a message to Tyler that said:

“If I had beat your ass one more time, you probably would have been Barack Obama.”

My family know they said that half of this stuff he saying is not true...he just hate his daddy!

Well that sure explains a lot... like his entire career.

Is he going to use the I was raped therefore I'm gay excuse? Has he come out already?

That episode made me cry.

He hates him so much he pays for his home and provides for him? And people don't lie about sexual abuse, not to this extent.

His life isn't as bad as he making it seem and he only doing this because he want people to feel sympathy for him. He is a scumbag and allowed money to change him he acts as if he don't know us anymore. When people get money they change, and he do hate his daddy I know for a fact.

How do you know this? Do u know him personally? Why would he want sympathy, what does he gain from it? He's doing to help other victims of abuse. Money changes everyone in Hollywood. i mean really. let me go to work. this is getting me upset.

Erm in a lot of this it seems that he had a choice, which is not abuse. He consented to the fact he had sex with that woman. Like, she put the key inside of her. He was forced to take it out? Like he ended up having sex with her after his penis "betrayed" him aka he got a boner and ****ed her out of his own actions. That is not sexual abuse. I understand the story about this father and that man in the tree house. But like some of this seems twisted in a way to say that he had sexual relations with older people. I dunno. Reading this didn't feel right and I can tell the story is twisted by his words. He never mentions his actions in the time.

Im confused by this now.

He did not have a choice. Molestation is not always the act but the manipulation/grooming.

I don't know him personally because I'm too young but he grew up with my mother and family they were very close and I talked to his sister on the phone once and I heard my momma talking about how he saying all that and his life was not that bad. Just like Futurama said he switch those words up.

I feel HE's the one manipulating the story. That's my point. And grooming someone when they WANT to be groomed, is NOT sexual abuse. Manipulating someone to consent is very wrong, I agree, but again if they do consent by law it is not sexual abuse. That's a fact. Consent is the key word, and by his stories he only did not consent to one of the molestations.

It seems he's trying to blame people on his own confusion with sexual orientation. It's like he's justifying it because of sexual relations he had with other people when he was younger. I understand that he can regret these actions, but seriously I don't know if some of these people are alive still, but these people would probably be horrified at him labelling it sexual abuse.

From his stories, he doesnt add HIS contribution to the lead-ups. It's all twisted, and I feel like he's now trying to justify to himself why he had sexual feelings for men.

Yep trust me he's manipulating the story my family know him very well and they said the same thing.
