We do it like this:
We toddle for about 2 years. (1st grade, 2nd grade)
Primary school:
2nd grade until 8th grade.
Secondary school/high school:
Freshman (9th grade) until 14th grade, depends which level you're doing.
But, after primary school we start all over again and call it 1st grade, 2nd etcetera grade again.
So:
Freshman - 1st grade (12/13y.o)
2nd grade (13/14 y.o)
3th grade (14/15 y.o)
4th grade (15/16 y.o)
5 th grade(16/17 y.o)
