People not neccesary think that the better quality of sound is the sound that are on the current music technology.
For example, people who raised on the times of LP's and cassetes ( our parents and grandparents ), they feel something magic on that old sound, that sandy sound of the LP's and cassetes. Once, I was on my living room and played some 80's classics on my home theater. My father, however, still prefers to play those songs on cassetes. I sometimes feel surprised for that.
But let's imagine that the way of listen to music changes on 2030 or 2040, there won't probably be music videos and all the rhythms will be based on electronic beats , for example. And even though the technology of sound of those times might be better on quality than in 2010, some people will still prefer the old 2010 music on the devices they played, on 2010.
I must say, to mention another example, that I prefer to see videos on VHS or music channels than in a computer, I raised watching music videos on VHS and music channels since I was a child, so no matter what the quality improves, I will always like the old times
