Thanks to everyone who voted this past round, which saw the elimination of the third song from our top ten. Voting was extremely close throughout the round and by the end, three songs were seriously at risk. "My Immortal" by Evanescence, a song that I thought might be able to go all the way. Its liltingly beautiful piano arrangement and Amy Lee's haunting vocal performance helped make it one of the most successful songs of 2004, and it remains the band's biggest hit. But as their star has faded, so, apparently, has some of the luster of "My Immortal." What once seemed like a new pop classic for ages is no longer such a sure thing, as evidenced by its eighth place finish in this game.
