Taylor Swift's upcoming "Speak Now" album is already Double Platinum with stores buying 2 million copies of the CD from her label Big Machine Records. How many copies do you think will sell next Week? 300-900 thousand, 1million or more? what's your best guess?
Stores bought 1M of Katy's album and it sold 192K first week. Technically, this could underperform and sell 400K. Not saying it will, but this doesn't necessarily mean it's going to debut w/ 1M or so...
According to sources, EMI shipped 1 million units of the album before its U.S. release date of August 24, which indicates that big-box retail chains like Walmart, Target and Best Buy were expecting the album to post robust first-week sales, as was Starbucks, which featured the title in its stores.
As for Taylor, I don't even know. I've been saying 750-900k, but I'm finding it hard to guess.
