They year is obviously not over and it IS possible that the #1 album will sell more, but it IS an accurate representation of how sales are declining. I doubt that w/e the #1 is selling will get close to what the #1 album of 2008 sold. Am I right?
That does not mean that OVERALL album sales for the year has declined. It's much more deeper than that. Either way Newt sis I am saying this without being a stan. If Utada fails to do 400-500k in it's first week with this album it is a flop. A massive one.

I kinda wish Hikki was releasing a new studio in early 2011 as well now. It would be interesting to see how she fared against Ayu and Kumi. Especially Kumi.

I can understand that you are saying this without being a stan but I disagree. There is no way that less than 400K- 500K will be a "massive flop". Putting my stanning aside If it sells anything less than 300k it WILL be a flop. Anything in between 300k -400k is extremely disappointing but NOT a flop. I think we are losing perspective on things. Utada may be a well-established artist but everyone experiences moments of decline. I AM NOT a delusional stan and I will be the first to call out Hikki when something like a "flop" occurs to her. However, I seriously doubt that the album is going to flop

Thats because after first week sales Japanese artists tend to fall really hard in their second week. First week sales usually make up about 70-80% of an album's total sales.

I can settle for this. It SHOULD be able to outsell HS. I really hope it does, but we will see.
