It won't. We already know she's a main character throughout the film with pictures/behind the scene videos, etc. dealing with her book about her life or whatnot. Plus it wouldn't make sense to kill her at the beginning of the new trilogy, when she's the reason there's even a killer. If anything (and if happens) she'll die in the end.
So since they split up. Will this be the last time we will see Courtney and David being on Scream?
It isn't a nasty split from what I've read, and only a trial separation. If it proceeds to an actual divorce, then I'd worry. Otherwise, I doubt they'd allow this to come between shooting the next 2 films (granted they survive them all).

Can't wait! I'm still pissed that Lauren got dropped from this movie though.
