That's what's wrong with today's music--it's not "sweet" enough. I'm glad that Lee didn't come out with the obvious generic songs of this generation, and I hope he continues to make music that is true to him. This has a simply laidback, John Mraz/Gavin Degraw-ish feel to it. I like it. Keep up the good work, Lee.
I don't know what you guys are talking about. This actually is a million times better than what I was expecting. I was really expecting something along the lines of "Light On" meets "Love Remains the Same." (You know, a Daughtry reject type song.) I'm not going to say it's an amazing song, because it isn't. There hasn't been any Idol winner yet besides Clarkson and Underwood to have a great debut single. But they way you guys are talking is making it sound like it's the worst song released this year! I say #23 on pop, #14 on hot AC, and maybe #25 on AC. #24 Hot 100. I don't see it getting inside the top 50 anywhere else, though.
