Ke$ha Cancels Mexico Shows due to "Cannibal"

The Jonas Brothers are not the only musical act to cancel shows south of the border.
Pop star Ke$ha was supposed to the spend the next few days in Mexico CIty, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tampico.
But the singer announced that she was cancelling the shows because she is needs time to do last-minute adjusments to her upcoming album, "Cannibal."
The album is expected to be released on November 22nd.
According to her facebook fan page, the concerts were scheduled for:
* • Friday, October 15th - Auditorio Nacional - Mexico City
* • Saturday, October 16th - Foro Alterno - Guadalajara
* • Monday, October 18th - Arena Monterrey - Monterrey
* • Tuesday, October 19th - Expo Tampico - Tampico
The Jonas Brothers cancelled their upcoming show in Monterrey amid a wave of drug cartel violence.
Ke$ha's Statement
According to the Info7 website in Monterrey, Ke$ha wanted to come to Mexico and was disappointed she couldn't make it because of the album.
The pop star apologized to her fans for the cancelations and said she hopes to come to Mexico in 2011.
Ke$ha's facebook fan page and website show that she did not cancel tour dates in Viriginia, Connecticut and Rhode Island between October 21st and October 26th.
The pop star is known for her hit songs, "Tik Tok", "Blah blah blah", "Your love is my drug" and "Take it off."
Fans React
Fans from Mexico were quick to express their disappointment on the events tab of her facebook fan page.
"The concert was canceled for her new album," one fan wrote. "I hope she comes soon, I'll be up front!"
Others were more cynnical. One person wrote that he was now an, "Ex fan."
Another pointed out that Ke$ha is not the first artist to cancel a show in Monterrey.
"First the cranberries, then KISS, Black Eyed Peas after that and now Ke$ha," he wrote. "Nice. Now only lady gaga is missing."
