I actually like these changes, whether I'm going to watch, well thats extremely debatable.

Even with these changes, I don't think the show will still be good ratings-wise. AI is falling apart. And I doubt the winner of this season will sell.

Nice changes, but...

01) Obviously trying to copy The X-Factor, which is premiering in 2011 anyway, so...
02) American Idol is dead. They could have Lady GaGa, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Ke$ha, and Beyonce come on to perform a song together, and that still wouldn't help the show. (But my God, wouldn't that be epic?) In other words, too little too late.

I like theme weeks & I loved the celebrity mentors & watching them interact with the contestants, IDK about this
