Hilary Duff began the full press rounds for her debut novel Elixir earlier today. During a stop by The Morning Zoo radio show, host Chet Buchanan was kind enough to remember that before Hilary transformed herself into a literary genius, she was actually a successful actress and pop star, so he asked her what was up with her “acting and singing”.
Duff was less than enthusiastic with her response.
“Um… I’m open,” she said. “I’m writing the follow-up book to Elixir. I’m on this press tour for two weeks, and then I’m gonna go home and start writing, so that takes time, so it’s kind of hard to do something else during this writing process. I’m not really singing right now. But, I just did an episode of ‘Community’ which was really fun. I don’t know because I’m travelling back and forth between Pittsburgh to L.A, so the book is kind of great, but if the right movie came along that’d be great — But, I also feel happy that I don’t have to do things that I don’t want to.”
Adding weight to rumors that Duff has ended her singing career comes from recent comments from her producer Richard Vission, who recently said that as far as he knew, Hil was done with music.
I think I speak for everyone when I say that it’s now time to pick up the broken and shattered pieces of our pathetic lives and finally move on.

OMG. This is the moment I'm very scared to hear. She said 'right now' so I guess in the future she can feel her heart coming back to music. ARGH. This made my day feel bad.
